The development team at Rocksteady and publisher Warner Bros. are ready to deliver the launch trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight one day before the title will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One.

There are less than two minutes of footage included, but there are some strong hints about both the story of the new installment in the franchise and the kinds of new mechanics that gamers will be able to use.

Batman: Arkham Knight has been widely described by the developers as the final title in the current video game arc for the main character, and the voice over for the trailer explicitly talks about the death of The Dark Knight and about the legacy that he will deliver upon the city of Gotham.

Rocksteady also offers a few very cool shows of the new villain that they have created in conjunction with DC Comics for the experience, suggesting that there's more to him than meets the eye.

The trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight also puts some of the secondary characters center stage, which is unusual for a superhero-themed title.

The Batmobile offers a new way to explore Gotham

The biggest gameplay addition to this final installment created by Rocksteady is the Batmobile, which will be used to allow gamers to move around the city at their will, while also serving as an ally during combat and when players are trying to deal with puzzles.

The vehicle can also be controlled via remote and can be used in conjunction with the Batwing.

Batman: Arkham Knight will also tweak the combat system that made the series a success, and the developers are claiming that enemies are smarter and will test the fighting instinct of the player.

Fans of the franchise can also pick up a Season Pass for the title that will give them access to extra content, including a prequel campaign focused on the adventures of Batgirl.

Batman: Arkham Knight will also have playable sections focused on the Red Hood, who will use guns and will kill his enemies, as well as Nightwing and Catwoman, some of the main allies of The Dark Knight.
