Arkham Origins is not included in the coming package

It seems that Warner Bros. is getting ready to announce and launch a new Batman Arkham HD Collection for the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft and that pre-order for the package will start on April 19 at select retailers and online.

The information comes from a Gamestop employee who has delivered an image that confirms the existence of the new game to Eurogamer, although so far, the publisher has not officially commented on the rumor.

It seems that those who get the Batman Arkham HD Collection will be able to play improved versions of both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, with the tweaks focused on the visuals rather than the gameplay.

Warner Bros. has apparently decided not to include Arkham Origins, the sole video game in the franchise that was not created by Rocksteady, probably because most fans see it as being sub-par with the other titles that feature Batman as the main character.

All downloadable content packs launched for the two titles are included in the new package, and pre-orders will start tomorrow, although the video game is only set to be in the hands of players on June 10.

Rumors about updated versions of the two Batman titles appeared in 2015, and when Warner Bros. makes an official announcement, we will find out what other bonuses might be included.

A new Batman video game has not yet been announced

Rocksteady has said that it is not planning to work on any new video games linked to the franchise after the launch of Arkham Knight, although the company has not yet announced another project.

Warner Bros. is certainly interested in working on more titles that feature the Dark Knight, especially because he is very popular at the moment because of its constant presence on the big screen.

No official video games were associated with the recent Batman versus Superman movie, but it's almost certain the publisher will work with TT Games to create one linked to the coming LEGO movie that will focus on the character.

Given the limited popularity of Arkham Origins, which was created by another studio inside Warner Bros., the two companies might want to rekindle their partnership at some point in the future.

Batman Arkham HD Collection is a good way for those who have not played the entire series to see how the character can be developed in two titles that managed to offer a good mix of story and gameplay.
