Rocksteady, the studio behind Batman Arkham games, recently revealed their take on a Suicide Squad game and from what we've been shown, it looks like it's focusing on the multiplayer aspects. Dubbed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the game is set in the Arkham universe and lets players get together with up to three of their friends to play.

Yes, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League feature co-op for up to four players, but it can also be played solo with the AI controlling the other three characters. It's important to mention that players can switch between characters on the fly if they choose to play solo.

For the time being, we know that the four characters that you'll be able to play with are Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang. At least these are the ones that appear in the trailer released over the weekend at DC Fandome.

In case you're wondering how Suicide Squad connects to the Arkham universe, here is what Sefton Hill, creative director at Rocksteady said during the game's Fandome panel: “This is a continuation of the Arkhamverse, so a lot of the threads and storylines you're going to see come to fruition in this game.”

As the name suggests, players are tasked with killing the Justice League, and from what we're seeing in the trailer, that would be a good deed for humanity. Superman is now a baddie and kills a civilian, so the Suicide Squad must take down the superhero. We're also shown fighting scenes as the heroes exchange blows, but it doesn't look like the footage was capture in-game.

That's quite understandable though considering that Rocksteady announced Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League won't be ready until 2022. You shouldn't expect the game to be released on current-gen consoles. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been confirmed to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
