Bang-On Balls: Chronicles, the weird 3D platformer with action-adventure elements, is getting a major update that is goofily trying to recreate the “space race” between Soviets and Americans. On top of that, developer Exit Plan Games announced that to celebration the launch of the new Space Race chronicle, a sale is in order.

This is the largest sale on Bang-On Balls: Chronicles to date, so as of now and until February 20, players will save 30% off the regular price, but act fast. Once the sale ends, the price comes back down to earth and returns to the regular price.

As far as the new update goes, the Space Race chronicle more than triples the size of the existing Vikings Chronicle and allows players (aka BoBs) to join the race to reach outer space and face the threat they find there.

As mentioned earlier, the new Space Race chronicle recreates some key elements of the real-world USSR vs. The USA race for space that ran through the 1950s and 60s, but with a goofy twist. Expect a ton of content in the Space Race including new enemies to smash, locations to explore, many items and gadgets to collect as well as a lot of secrets to find.

In Bang-On Balls: Chronicles, players take the role of a BoB, a ball on their first day working as an intern at the Bang-On film studio. As they explore the studio, they meet their terrible boss who is bouncing around angrily picking on his staff.

You’ll venturing into worlds of Vikings and the Space Race (with more chronicles to come, including Pirates) to uncover collectibles to advance to other chronicles. Bang-On Balls: Chronicles can be played solo or shared with up to 3 other players in online co-op. The game is now available in Early Access on Steam for PC and is coming soon to Xbox.
