It looks like Bandai Namco is content with the success of Code Vein enough to launch yet another anime soulslike game: Scarlet Nexus. Developed by the same studio behind the Tales Of series, Scarlet Nexus will be available on PC via Steam, as well as Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

In Scarlet Nexus, players will take the role of Yuito Sumeragi, a youngster with talent in psycho-kinesis, and explore the futuristic city of New Himuka to uncover the mysteries of a Brain Punk future caught between technology and physic abilities.

The next generation of video game home consoles lets the development team realize the full potential of Scarlet Nexus. Players can expect visuals and psychic battles with high resolution and frame rate along with fully interactive real-time battles with dynamic animation. Utilizing Smart Delivery on Xbox Series X also means players can enjoy the best version of Scarlet Nexus regardless of whether they are playing on the next generation with Xbox Series X or Xbox One,” said Scarlet Nexus Producer, Keita Iizuka from BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc.

The game promises a complex story full of courage and heroism, which has been crafted by the studio behind the iconic Tales Of game, Tales of Vesperia. Judging by the announcement and what we're seeing in the trailer, Scarlet Nexus is a mix of Code Vein and Control.

Using psycho-kinetic powers, players will be able to make the world an important ally, as they can lift, break, and hurl a piece of the environment to build attack combos, just like in Remedy Entertainment's Control.

The art style is all anime and looks very much like the one present in Code Vein, so there's really no innovation when it comes to visuals. Scarlet Nexus doesn't have a release date, but it's likely to be launched during 2020, so stay tuned for more on this one.
