14 DAY TRIAL // Chinese company ZTE is readying its next flagship smartphone aimed at customers in the United States, the Axon Phone. After launching a few Nubia devices in Asia and Europe, ZTE is now bringing one of its sub-brands, Axon, to the country.
This is not the first time we're reporting about ZTE's Axon Phone, but it's the first time that we have more details on the handset's specs.
Those who don't remember, the Axon Phone has been confirmed to pack 4GB of RAM, so it will most likely compete with Asus' Zenfone 2 that features the same amount of RAM.
We also know that the smartphone might go on sale for around $450 (€406) outright, since ZTE is running a contest in which participants can win up to $10,000 (€9,026) as well as an Axon Phone which is valued at $450.
But apart from that, we did not know anything else related to ZTE's Axon Phone. Luckily, the Chinese company updated the phone's webpage with new information that sheds some light on its hardware and software features.
“Lightning-fast processor” and “amazing Hi-Fi sound playback”
First of all, the Axon Phone will come with dual-lens camera on the back, which will be capable of shooting 4K video. It will also feature “incredibly fast auto-focus” and it will allow users to refocus their photos after they take them.
There are no details on the amount of megapixels, but we also know that the Axon Phone will pack a secondary camera in the front that will allow users to take selfies by smiling.
Unfortunately, one of the things that hasn't been revealed yet is the chipset inside the Axon Phone. However, ZTE confirms the smartphone comes with a “lightning-fast processor,” 4GB of RAM and “a large battery for all-around high performance.”
Last but not least, ZTE claims the Axon Phone is “the first true high-fidelity phone” that will soon be available in the United States.
The device is said to feature “amazing high-fidelity sound playback” as well as Hi-Fi recording thanks to the twin microphones and the best noise suppression technology.
Axon Phone has been confirmed for release on July 14. It will be available for purchase in the United States in three different color options: Phathalo Blue, Ion Gold and Chromium Silver.
