14 DAY TRIAL // Earlier this week, law enforcement officers in Brooksville, Florida, arrested a 47-year-old woman. A former convict, the woman was accused of having violated the terms of her parole.
After the woman was taken into custody and police officers got around to searching her home, they found hundreds of bladed weapons in pretty much every room of the house.
The officers counted a total of 3,714 swords, machetes and knives, all perfectly sharp and deadly. Apparently, they also found fake human body parts and what appeared to be ritualistic arrangements.
The woman put up quite a fight
It was on Tuesday night that law enforcement officers arrived at the home of 47-year-old Nickole Dykema. They went there to arrest her after a neighbor complained that she had used a bladed weapon to damage his air conditioning unit and one of his windows.
At first, the woman refused to come out. Instead, she started shouting obscenities at the officers from inside her house, demanding that they leave her property.
When the officers tried to get inside her home to take her into custody, she attacked a deputy and nearly cut his face with a weapon described by witnesses as a machete or a sword.
The police fired at her with nonlethal beanbag rounds. This didn't work, and so they had to taser her. Apparently, it took about 5 hours to finally handcuff her.
The woman is probably mentally ill
47-year-old Nichole Dykema now stands accused of resisting arrest with violence, property damage, assault on a law enforcement officer, and violating the terms of her parole.
According to RT, the woman was first arrested back in last year's December, when she was caught stealing chef knives from a local store. At the time, she had a dagger and a sword on her.
Judging by her behavior, odds are the woman is mentally ill. University of South Florida psychiatrist Ryan Wagoner told the press that she might be suffering from a hoarding and a psychotic disorder.
