The G4 is one of the most popular smartphones LG launched in the United States in the last couple of years. Following the success of the LG G3, the G4 was made available in the US at all major carriers, which is another confirmation of its popularity.

LG G4 is definitely one of the smartphones that the South Korean company will upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the coming months, though the availability of the update has to be confirmed by carriers as well.

Until then, though, it looks like LG is determined to offer as many updates as possible in order to fix any issues reported by users or discovered by its own engineers.

The latest maintenance update for G4 is now available for download at AT&T, so those who own the device should now look for it on their devices.

According to AT&T, this firmware update brings many improvements and enhancements to different aspects of the LG G4.

There's also an official changelog, which confirms the update contains many improvements to calendar, battery, keyboard, camera, and GPS.

In addition, the update adds LG Backup, touch improvements, as well as enhancements to Exchange Active Sync.

Last but not least, the update includes some security enhancements meant to patch some exploits discovered by Android users.

In order to capture the update, LG G4 owners should head over to Settings, under the General tab and tap About phone.

Then, tap on the Software Info and you should receive information on the update version. Speaking of which, AT&T has confirmed that this is software version H81010 (Android version 5.1).

It's also worth mentioning that this firmware update is about 420MB in size, so make sure you have enough storage before attempting to download it.
