Windows Phone fans in the United States haven't been able to purchase any of the two high-end Windows 10 Mobile handsets announced by Microsoft a few months ago, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, from their country.

However, Microsoft is expected to make them both available for purchase in the next couple of weeks, though they might not arrive in store until early December.

But the good news is at least one of the two Windows 10 Mobile smartphones will go on sale as early as November 20. AT&T, the only carrier that will offer the Lumia 950 in the United States, is now rumored to launch it on that date.

According to WindowsCentral, the smartphone was slightly delayed because AT&T and Microsoft wanted to enable the iris scanner (Windows Hello) included in the Lumia 950.

Additionally, the Redmond-based company has decided that it would be better to reach the Threshold 2 update for the operating system before making the Lumia 950 available on the market.

Even though the carrier hasn't yet confirmed the availability of Windows Hello at launch, sources familiar with AT&T's plans claim the feature is now tested, so it should be enabled when Lumia 950 goes on sale later this month.

When it comes to price, rumor has it that Lumia 950 is likely to cost around $550 outright, but customers will also be able to purchase it for $100 on two-year agreements.

Keep in mind, though, that these are not final prices, so AT&T might change them by the time Lumia 950 gets released on November 20.

It's also worth mentioning that the other flagship smartphone to be launched by the Redmond-based company, Lumia 950 XL, will only be available for purchase in the United States via Microsoft's official stores.
