AT&T is the first carrier that will sell the BlackBerry Priv in the United States. The smartphone is now selling via BlackBerry's official webstore, but it's only compatible with two major US operators: T-Mobile and AT&T.

According to AT&T, BlackBerry Priv will be available for purchase through its official retail channels beginning November 6.

Customers will be able to pick BlackBerry's first Android smartphone for $0 down with AT&T Next 24 ($24.67 for 30 months), 18 ($30.84 for 24 months) and 12 ($37 for 20 months).

The outright cost of the BlackBerry Priv is about $740, which makes it $40 more expensive than the version sold by the Canadian company through its official online store.

However, AT&T customers will also be able to grab the BlackBerry Priv for just $250, but they must sign up for a new 2-year agreement.

BlackBerry Priv is supposed to be the most secure Android smartphone available on the market, at least according to the Canadian company.

The most secure Android smartphone

Apart from that, the device comes with some high-end features worth mentioning, like 5.4-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display and 18-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-flash Schneider-Kreuznach optics.

Also, the 3,410 mAh battery that powers the Priv should provide up to 22.5 hours of uninterrupted power. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card slot.

Obviously, the smartphone supports AT&T's 4G LTE bands but further includes some BlackBerry software meant to improve Android's security.

“You can finally have everything you loved about BlackBerry with the capabilities of Android OS. This smartphone is a powerhouse with sleek design, seamless productivity, and advanced security features on the nation’s most reliable 4G LTE network,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Device Marketing and Developer Services, AT&T Mobility.
