Asus plans to bring yet another Zenfone smartphone, but this time the Taiwanese handset maker won't be focusing on hardware. The new Zenfone Max hasn't been officially introduced, but it's already listed on the company's website.

The main selling point of the Zenfone Max is the huge 5,000 mAh battery inside, which can also be used as a power bank to charge up other devices while on the move.

According to Asus, the Zenfone Max's battery should provide no less than 37.6 hours of talk time or up to 38 days of standby time.

Also, those who plan to purchase the Zenfone Max to browse the Internet or watch movies will be pleased to know that Asus states the phone's battery should last up to 32.5 hours while web browsing via Wi-Fi, and up to 22.6 hours of video playback time.

The rest of the phone's specs are nowhere near the massive battery's value. Asus Zenfone Max looks more like an entry-level Android smartphone rather than a mid-range handset.

An interesting device if properly priced

In this regard, Asus confirmed the Zenfone Max comes equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Also, the Zenfone Max packs a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with laser autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

There's no mention of dual-SIM, but Asus states the phone comes with 4G LTE support. Asus Zenfone Max sports a decent 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating.

Software-wise, the Zenfone Max ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and Asus ZenUI on top of it, but there's no word of a possible Marshmallow upgrade yet.
