14 DAY TRIAL // ASUS has certainly been keeping itself busy lately, despite the fact that only two weeks have passed since the company released three devices in the ZenFone 3 series. The ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Ultra, and ZenFone 3 Deluxe flagship were well received upon launch, but the company has decided that now would be a good time to introduce another product, the ZenFone Pegasus 3.
The ZenFone Pegasus 3 is the third generation in the “Pegasus” series, a direct successor to the Pegasus 2 Plus, which was released in July last year. Thus, it was only natural for the latest Pegasus smartphone to appear this month or the next.
The handset is made out of metal and comes in multiple color variants, namely Gray, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold. It’s also available in two variants, depending on RAM capacity and internal storage. The first version has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage while the second provides 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
ZenFone Pegasus 3 is only available in China for now
Both devices sport microSD slots and have 5.2-inch displays with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. At its core, the ZenFone Pegasus 3 runs on a MediaTek’s MT6737 64-bit quad-core SoC, coupled with Mali-T720 graphics processing unit, and it draws power from a 4,100mAh battery, which is non-removable.
Rear camera capacity reaches 13MP whereas a 5MP snapper can be found on the front. It has two SIM card slots and features 4G LTE with VoLTE. The phone weighs 158.4 grams and measures 149.5 x 73.7 x 8.55mm. The smartphone also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back.
It runs Android Marshmallow 6.0, with ASUS’ ZenUI 3.0 on top. ZenFone Pegasus 3 was officially launched in China, and there’s no word yet on when it will be available in other regions.
Nevertheless, ZenFone Pegasus 3 is sold for a price of $198 (€176) for the variant with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB and internal memory and $228 (€203) for the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory version.
