ASUS just couldn’t stay away from Microsoft’s ambitious Always Connected PCs project, so the company unveiled NovaGo, it’s very first laptop that runs Windows 10 on ARM and promises insane battery life.

Just like HP’s Envy x2, the ASUS NovaGo is powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor, which in turn means that it can achieve the “always connected” standard thanks to a Snapdragon X16 LTE modem capable of gigabit speeds. ASUS brags that this is the first gigabit LTE laptop, and this should certainly appeal to customers who want uncompromising Internet access on the go.

The NovaGo features a 13.3-inch 1080p display and unsurprisingly, it comes in a 2-in-1 factor, which means that you can remove the keyboard and turn it into a fully-featured tablet running Windows 10.

Powered by Windows 10 S, the device also features stylus support and Windows Ink, the built-in Windows 10 feature specifically optimized for pens. The top configuration features 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, as well as a wide array of ports, including USB 3.0, that allow for more external storage should you need it.

Insane battery life

The key feature of this laptop, however, is the battery life. Just like Microsoft said in the official announcement revealing Always Connected PCs, devices running Windows 10 on ARM can achieve insane figures, with the target being one week per charge.

The ASUS NovaGo isn’t there just yet, but it can still run for no less than 30 days per charge, obviously in standby mode, while active usage reaches no less than 22 hours. That nearly double the figures of a high-end laptop these days, though it remains to be seen if this performance can also be achieved in real life.

The NovaGo will go on sale in the first quarter of 2018 with pricing to begin at $599 for the version equipped with 4GB RAM and 64GB SSD storage. The upgraded model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage will be sold for $799.
