Asus has been pretty open with offering information about upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates. Even if details about these upgrades come a bit later than other handset makers’, at least Asus fans know what to expect.

The Taiwanese company has just revealed all the devices that will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the coming months. If your smartphone is not among those announced by Asus, chances are your device will be stuck with an older version.

Here is the list of Asus smartphones confirmed to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow: PadFone S (PF500KL), ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML, ZE551ML), ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML), ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition (ZE551ML), ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KG, ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE551KL, ZE600KL, ZE601KL), ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL), ZenFone Max (ZC550KL), and ZenFone Zoom (ZX551ML).

According to Asus, all the smartphones mentioned earlier should receive Marshmallow updates in Q2 of 2016, so it shouldn't be too long now.

Lots of new changes added by Asus

The handset maker also highlighted some of the changes included these upgrades, besides those that are already coming with Marshmallow.

“Google Messenger, Calendar, and Gmail apps will automatically be included with the Android M update. These apps will replace three ZenUI apps—ASUS Messenger, ASUS Mail and ASUS Calendar—as the default apps in the Android M version of ZenUI if you restore to factory settings after the update.”

It's also worth mentioning that if you decide to restore to factory settings after the update, Asus Messenger, Asus Mail and Asus Calendar will be available for download from Google Play Store.

Surprisingly, Asus was one of the few companies that skipped Mobile World Congress 2016 trade fair and did not announce any new smartphones.

One of the constant presences at MWC in the previous years, it looks like Asus has decided to stay away this time for some unknown reason.
