ZenFone 3 owners should receive the update soon

Google released the latest Android 7.0 Nougat quite a while ago and many smartphone makers have already started working on updates for their phones. One of the companies that have already started rolling out the update is Asus.

According to a new report, Asus has started delivering the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the ZenFone 3, specifically for the variants carrying the code names ZE520KL and ZE552KL in the Philippines.

The Android Nougat update on ZenFone 3 brings multiple new additions to the smartphone, especially the highly popular multi-window support which allows users to manage content and work in two applications at the same time.

The update also brings notification control changes, so users can manage their notifications in an easier and more intuitive way. In addition, ZenFone 3 users will be able to check out the improved Doze power management features and enjoy multiple enhance performance tweaks.

Asus ZenFone 3 was announced back in May last year

Asus ZenFone 3 is a mid-range smartphone running Snapdragon 625 SoC and carrying 4GB of RAM, together with 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card. Moreover, the smartphone features a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and has a metal and glass design. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back and a 16MP rear camera, together with an 8MP camera in the front. It draws power from a 3,000mAh battery.

The phone was announced back in May 2016 and is one of the first Asus smartphones to receive the Nougat update.

Many smartphone makers have included Nougat on their flagship devices and even some mid-range ones. Asus recently announced the ZenFone Pegasus 3S running Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The company might release Nougat to some of its other smartphones as well.
