Ubisoft confirmed the next installment in the Assassin's Creed series will arrive later this year. Revealed a few months ago, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Stadia on November 17.

Just like in Odyssey, players will be able to choose from either male or female protagonists, without their choice having any impact on how the story unfolds during their playthroughs. However, unlike any of the Assassin's Creed games released by Ubisoft until now, Valhalla will feature almost no side-quests.

Instead, developers opted for so-called raids and assault missions, which will allow the Vikings led by the protagonist to slowly conquer the open region of East England. Another unique to Assassin's Creed series mechanic is the upgradeable base that you'll receive once you reach the shores of England.

The skill tree system and weapon arsenal received some improvements, and the same goes for stealth mechanics. Players will now be able to not only dual-wield any two one-handed weapons but shields as well.

A new stun attack that's meant to drain the enemy stamina will be available in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which opens up new combat strategies. Once an enemy is stunned, players will be able to execute a stun kill or brutal finish that varies based on the enemy type.

In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the protagonist learns new abilities from Books of Knowledge, which can be found throughout the world, as well as by exploring, finding items, and speaking to people.

Your new bird that will help you explore from up above is now a raven called Synin. It will help you identify enemies long before you reach their campsites.

Apart from announcing the game's release date, Ubisoft also released a 30-minute gameplay walkthrough that shows a lot of the activities that developers talked about during the presentation, so make sure to watch it to learn more about Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
