The two main protagonists of the upcoming Assassin's Creed Syndicate game are going to stand out through their different personalities, according to developer Ubisoft Quebec. Jacob Frye will portray the classic charismatic lead that rushes into battle, while his twin sister Evie will use strategy and stealth to gain the upper hand.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate promises to bring forth quite a few interesting changes to the franchise's main recipe. From the Victorian London setting to the bigger emphasis on concealed weapons, Ubisoft has highlighted plenty of ways the game stands out from its predecessors.

However, one of the biggest differentiating factors between Syndicate and the likes of Unity is the fact that it has not one but two protagonists, in the form of twin brother-and-sister duo Jacob and Evie Frye.

The twins stand out from past heroes

While talking with GamesRadar, Ubisoft Quebec's Francois Pelland emphasizes just how important it was to make Jacob and Evie stand out not only from one another but also from past protagonists.

Through their different natures, fans are allowed to act how they want in the game and aren't constrained while roaming around Syndicate's virtual London.

"Jacob is an extremely charismatic, very confident personality. He’s a leader. On the other side, you have Evie who tends to be more cautious, she’s more on the strategic side, she has stealth-specific skills that are specific to her. It’s that duality between the two within the story that really makes those characters stand out. I guess that it was a creative direction, it was a story and narrative direction right from the start," he explains.

While in free roam, Syndicate players can control either Jacob or Evie. However, during some missions, they're locked into one or the other protagonist, depending on the requirements of the story.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate is set to make its debut in October for PS4 and Xbox One and in November for the PC platform.
