Video game developers Climax Studios and Ubisoft Montreal are announcing that they have decided to launch the final two installments in the Chronicles series of titles linked to Assassin's Creed early in the coming year.

The India installment will be offered on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PC on January 12 of next year while the title that takes gamers to Russia will arrive on February 9.

On the second date, gamers can also get a trilogy pack on their preferred platform, and a version of the Assassin's Creed Chronicles bundle is also coming to the PlayStation Vita on April 5.

The two games, as the previous installment set in China, use a classic 2.5 D look and unique art styles to take gamers to different periods in history and show how the conflict between the Templars and the Assassins has evolved over time.

The India story will take place during a time when the Sikh Empire is getting ready for war against the armies of the East India Company, which was backed by the British Empire in its effort to take over as much of the subcontinent as possible and then exploit it economically.

The Assassin that gamers can control is named Arbaaz Mir and he will need to deal with a powerful Templar, who brings a mystery item while also struggling to find a way to protect the love of his life and his friends from the turmoil happening around him.

The franchise will travel to more countries in the future

For Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia gamers will get to explore the world of 1918, after the Communist Revolution, using a character named Nikolai Orelov.

He is seeking to get out of the country but needs to complete one final mission: steal a special item that belongs to the Tsar, which means he needs to infiltrate the house where his family is held before execution.

Gamers will be able to interact with princess Anastasia, and they will have to protect her from Templar forces as she exits Russia and gets away from the Communists who seek to kill her.

All the Chronicles games are linked by a common narrative thread that will have wider repercussions for the rest of the franchise.

This year's Syndicate, which takes place during the Industrial Revolution in London, has been well received by gamers and has earned praise for its streamlined mechanics and the way it manages to deliver two protagonists with unique personalities and skills.

The title will probably receive its set of downloadable content during 2016.

Ubisoft has not suggested where it will take the Assassin's Creed franchise next, but some fans have suggested that Japan would offer some interesting possibilities, especially now that India, China, and Russia have both been explored in the Chronicles series.

Ubisoft is seeking to find more ways to deliver content associated with the series to fans and is currently also working on a movie based on it, which will feature Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Michael K. Williams, Jeremy Irons, and Brendan Gleeson.
