14 DAY TRIAL // Ariana Grande is young (she’s 22) but she already has the reputation of a diva comparable to that of much older and experienced female performers. In her case, though, she tells V Magazine, it’s a case of being made into a target, in order to sell magazines and harvest clicks online.
For the record, Ariana’s diva antics are documented in reputable media publications too, not just in the tabloid media. The consensus is that she’s as nasty and insufferable as she is talented and seemingly delicate.
The media loves to make stuff up
The most recent debacle in which she landed herself was when she was caught on surveillance camera putting her tongue on the donuts on display in a donut shop in California and telling friends how much she hated America and its people, because they were fat.
She survived the backlash and even managed to talk her way back into the good graces of the public. With this being water under the bridge, she’s now hoping to talk her way out of the diva rumors as well, as it becomes clear from her new interview with V Magazine.
Those diva reports are unfounded, she swears. This is why she stopped paying attention to them.
“It’s sort of the media’s job to make things up in order to keep their audience interested. In a way, I kind of understand them,” she says. “But I don’t really look at the Internet anymore. The only reason I go on is to post things for my fans. I don’t read anything anymore because I came to an understanding that, okay, sometimes these people are going to say nice things, and sometimes they’re going to say fake things because they need to keep their readers curious and interested.”
Ariana is past the point of caring about what people who don’t know her are saying about her online.

Of the reports that got the most attention online in regards to Ariana’s diva attitude, there are a few that are so scandalous that they stand out.
She reportedly elbowed Giuliana Rancic from E! out of her way on a red carpet, because she thought she was blocking her way. She has a personal assistant whose sole responsibility is to fetch her water when she gets too thirsty.
Admittedly, she has people who carry her around “like a baby” when she deems she’s too tired to walk - or simply doesn’t feel like it.
She once got so nasty during a tour that her own “life coach” quit on her, and he must have been accustomed to dealing with the most difficult situations.
Ariana also has a fixation of always being shot for pictures from her good side (the left side of her face), and only in natural light, and with being allowed to veto photos she doesn’t like, even during interviews.
Rumor has it that she will stand up and walk out of an interview if she hears she’s being compared to Mariah Carey.
