14 DAY TRIAL // Apple has just released a new major update for the Apple Watch, and users can download it today through the dedicated app installed on their iPhones.
There are several notable improvements in watchOS 7.1, and the first of them is the debut of the ECG feature in more markets.
The ECG functionality has been around for a while, but Apple has gradually released it to more users as it received the go-ahead from authorities across the world to offer it on local devices. So with the release of today’s software update, the Apple Watch is getting ECG support in the Republic of Korea and Russia. Just like before, only the Apple Watch Series 4 and later models come with ECG, so if you own a Series 3, you won’t be getting this improvement.
Then, the new operating system update includes the ability to issue notifications when the headphone level could impact the hearing. What this means is that if you’re listening to music at a high volume, the Apple Watch can display a notification to recommend you to lower the volume.

In addition to the ECG feature support in Korea and Russia, users in these two countries are also being provided with support for irregular heart rhythm notifications.
When it comes to fixes resolving the problems that were reported on the Apple Watch, the new operating system update finally addresses a glitch that blocks some users from unlocking their Macs with the smartwatch. In other words, unlocking the computer from your wrist should now work correctly, as long as the Apple Watch runs watchOS 7.1.
And last but not least, the new software update resolves an Apple Watch Series 6 problem that caused the screen to be dark when raising the hand.
