Apple today filed six new Apple Watch models with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database, which means that the tech giant unofficially confirmed the rumored Apple Watch Series 4.

According to French blog Consomac (via MacRumors), Apple has submitted earlier today six new Apple Watch model numbers in the Eurasian database, including A1975, A1976, A1977, A1978, A2007, and A2008, running the upcoming watchOS 5 operating system that's currently in beta testing, which confirms the Apple Watch Series 4.

Until now there were only rumors about the Apple Watch Series 4, which received stunning mockups from talented designer Benjamin Geskin last month, suggesting Apple should include a larger screen while keeping the sizes of the Apple Watch identical to the Series 3, integrated sleep tracking, and advanced health monitoring capabilities.

Apple Watch Series 4 could be announced in mid-September 2018

Next month, Apple will announce a plethora of new devices, like it does every year in September. While last year Apple announced the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, as well as the Apple Watch Series 3 during a September 12, 2017, event, this year the tech giant could unveil Apple Watch Series 4 and new iPhones in mid-September.

Usually, the Cupertino, California-based company sends media invites at the end of August, so don't be surprised if the event will be announced next week on August 31st, though Apple never reveals what devices it has in store for us So we'll have to wait until the day of the event, which could be set for September 11, 2018.

Apple Watch Series 4 will ship with Apple's watchOS 5 operating system, which will launch next month for Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 too with features like Activity Competitions, automatic workout detection, new Yoga and Hiking workouts, pace alerts and cadence for runners, new Podcasts app, and Walkie-Talkie.
