If you don’t like ads, well, then you’ll have to learn to live with them, as they’re becoming more common in the majority of apps out there.

In the latest move on this front, Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has announced that it would start showing new ads in the App Store, this time in the Today tab and at the bottom of individual app listings.

The company has started sending out emails to developers to inform them about the change, with the new ads to apparently begin showing up everywhere except for China.

Apple has been planning to bring ads to the Today tab for quite some time, as an announcement in this regard was originally released earlier this year.

Apple has also updated the support documents to detail the new ads in the Today tab, as it wants to provide more information for developers who want to take full advantage of this new release.

“With a Today tab ad, your app can appear prominently on the front page of the App Store — making it some of the first content users see when they begin their App Store visit. The prominence of this placement makes it a good option to drive awareness of your app, especially for new content launches, special events, and seasonal promotions. Note that Today tab ads aren’t currently available on the App Store in mainland China,” Apple explains.

According to a report from MacRumors, the ads should start showing up on the App Store in the Today tab as soon as this week.

“Each Today tab ad is created from a custom product page you set up in App Store Connect. For this ad placement, the custom product page used must include at least four portrait or five landscape assets,” Apple explains.
