Apple is projected to take the wraps off new iPhone models in September, and the closer we get to this highly-anticipated product unveiling, the more information on the upcoming devices end up making the headlines.

This time, a report from Sina Finance reveals that Apple has already started the trial production of the iPhone 14. This is a phase when the Cupertino-based tech giant and its contract manufacturers are trying to determine any production problems that could impact the device, therefore making sure the mass production can run smoothly.

However, according to the same report, Apple is very confident that the iPhone 14 would become a total hit.

The company has reportedly told suppliers that it expects the early iPhone 14 sales to be higher than the ones recorded by the iPhone 13.

And at some level, this makes perfect sense, as the debut of the iPhone 13 has been severely impacted by the global lockdowns and the other restrictions happening across the world. What’s more, Apple is making big changes to this year’s iPhone lineup, ditching the iPhone mini for an all-new iPhone Max version that would come with a larger screen.

People familiar with the matter said on several occasions that the sales of the iPhone 13 mini have long been below expectations, so the Cupertino-based firm giving up on the 5.4-inch device isn’t by any means a surprise.

The introduction of an all-new iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch display is expected to generate increased sales, especially as it’ll come with a larger screen. Customers who are particularly interested in the standard iPhone 14 could therefore pay more for a larger display, especially as the available screen estate would be increased significantly.

The debut of the new models is expected to take place in September, as per Apple’s typical release schedule.
