Apple has started taking pre-orders for the new iPhone SE, with shipping projected to kick off the next Friday. Pricing for the iPhone SE 2022 starts at $429.

The new iPhone SE looks just like its predecessor, as it retains the iPhone 8-inspired body with a home button, an integrated Touch ID sensor, and no Face ID.

Apple has focused mostly on hardware upgrades under the hood, so while some people might be disappointed it uses the same 4.7-inch LCD display that was launched many years ago, the magic this time comes down to the new A15 Bionic chip and the upgraded cameras.

Furthermore, it comes with 5G support, therefore becoming Apple’s most affordable 5G iPhone on the market.

Three colors and storage options

The Cupertino-based tech giant has obviously praised iPhone SE in its original announcement, explaining that it wanted to stick with the iconic design and build a more powerful smartphone.

“iPhone SE has been an incredibly popular choice with our existing users and for new iPhone customers, thanks to its iconic design, exceptional performance, and affordable price. This year we’ve built the most powerful and durable iPhone SE yet, with better battery life thanks to A15 Bionic, the same chip as our iPhone 13 lineup that also unlocks advanced camera features like Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, and Deep Fusion,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing.

iPhone SE 2022 can be ordered in three different colors, namely midnight, starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED.

The smartphone is available for pre-order in the largest markets out there, with three storage choices available this time, namely 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

In the United States, Apple is also offering the iPhone SE at $17.87 a month before trade-in, therefore making the device even easier to get for those who don’t want to pay the full price upfront.
