Windows PCs also accepted, payments reach $500 in this case

Just like its rivals, Apple has been running a trade-in offer for quite some time now, allowing customers to get credit for old devices when planning to buy a new Mac.

This time, however, the company increased the payment customers could get to no less than $2,500 if they trade in a MacBook Pro or iMac in “excellent condition,” with some Windows devices also added to the list just in case a Microsoft user wants to make the switch to Mac.

On the other hand, the trade-in value for Windows PCs is significantly smaller and can only reach $500, with only a few models accepted, such as HP Spectre, Lenovo Yoga, and several Chromebook models released by Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Samsung, and Toshiba.

“Simply tell us about your current Mac or PC to get an estimate. Then mail in your computer for free and choose how you’d like to receive your credit – with an Apple Store Gift Card, a Visa gift card, or a deposit in your PayPal account. It’s that easy,” Apple says on the official page of the trade-in program.

Your old MacBook could be worth $1110 as part of this updated program, while Apple pays a maximum of $430 for the MacBook Air. The iMac can bring you $2500 in store credit, while the Mac Pro has a value of up to $1560.

It goes without saying that the value of your device varies depending on the current condition, so if it’s in tip-top shape with a working operating system and charger, there are good chances to reach the amount mentioned above.

The trade-in program launched by Apple is only available in the United States and anyone can get an instant quote by filling in the form here and provide details of the devices they plan to replace.
