14 DAY TRIAL // Since Apple launched its Music application on Android devices, a couple of updates have been released for the purpose of enticing fans of Google’s mobile platform to use this music service.
The latest update is meant to further allure Android users and make their music experience smoother and more immersive. If you haven’t tried Apple Music yet, now would be a good time since developers have added a few new features and improvements that might not be available for the iOS version.
These new features include better playlist management, a widget, and many more tweaks and minor enhancements. The most important seem to be the fact that Android users will now be able to control playback with a widget they can add to their home screen.
But that’s not all, as Apple Music users on Android devices can now redeem gift cards in Settings to renew their membership using iTunes credit.
The application is still in beta
Another improvement would be the fact that users can now see what’s playing on Beats 1 directly from the Radio tab, without having to tune in. Also, tapping the name of the currently playing song in Now Playing will head you directly to the album.
Last but not least, Android users can now see which songs are most popular on albums in the Apple Music catalog. Keep in mind, though, that even if Apple continues to deliver new features and improvements to Music, the application is still in beta, so you might still find some issues that haven’t been addressed yet.
If you don’t have the application yet, you can now download Apple Music for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.3 and up.
Unfortunately, sign-ups and upgrades to Family memberships still require Mac or iOS. Also, music videos are not available yet, but Apple promised to add this feature very soon.
