14 DAY TRIAL // It looks like Android users will soon be able to take advantage of Apple's music service. The Cupertino-based company is testing Apple Music for about a month now and it's close to releasing it for the general public.
We reported late last month that Apple is recruiting Android users for a private beta testing via Betabound website. It appears that the information was 100% accurate, though it's unclear when Apple Music service will be available for all Android users.
The good news is we might be very close to an official release of the music service if we are to take into consideration the latest screenshots leaked via German blog MobileGeeks.
The screenshots show Apple Music service running on Android operating system and the fact that developers have included some features not yet available on the iOS platform.
Obviously, there's a chance that some of these features might make it to iOS by the time Apple Music is released on Android operating system, but that remains to be seen.
Not just another port from iOS platform
According to these screenshots, Apple Music app will allow users to change the size of the cache for songs saved for offline playback on Android devices.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not Apple Music users on Android devices will be able to pinpoint the location of cache, though we believe this will be possible. The feature comes in handy for those who use SD cards into their Android smartphones.
Design-wise, Apple Music borrowed lots of Android's elements and included them into its visuals, which is rather strange considering Apple's rather stiff stance when it comes to Android design.
Basically, rather than simply port the design from the iOS application, Apple added many of the Android UI elements, including a slide-out sidebar navigation and the hamburger menu.
Apple announced that its music services should arrive on Android as early as fall and these screenshots are an indication that Apple Music is very close to being released.
