14 DAY TRIAL // This is already getting awkward. Apple has once again started selling the iPhone SE in its online store in the United States, after doing the same thing several times since the beginning of the year.
iPhone SE is the smallest iPhone that Apple is selling right now, as it features a screen of just 4 inches and the traditional iPhone design with Touch ID and no notch.
The device is currently available for purchase from Apple’s clearance site starting at $249, while an upgraded model with 128GB of storage can be yours for $299. At the time of writing this article, both Rose Gold and Silver versions are in stock unlocked and with a SIM at one of the local carriers.
iPhone SE2 on its way?
As for the reasons why the iPhone SE keeps coming back, very little is known at this point, but the most optimistic Apple fanboys hope the Cupertino-based tech giant is just testing the market for its reaction to a new 4-inch iPhone.
If this is the case, the company might indeed be planning to roll out a second-generation iPhone SE, possibly in the spring, as Apple has already announced a March event.
However, Apple is more likely to just try to clear out the available iPhone SE inventory in an attempt to focus exclusively on modern-generation iPhones, like the XS and XR. Apple is still selling the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, but sooner or later, these models are likely to be retired as well, most likely in September.
For now, you can just head over to the Apple Store to get an iPhone SE if you’re still in love with small smartphones. It remains to be seen if the device returns in stock in the future after it’s sold out, but I’m betting it will given Apple’s recent strategy.
