Apple has recently launched the 2020 iPhone SE, and now the company is betting big on marketing to make this device a hit, especially since the debut happened during the current health crisis.

And CEO Tim Cook himself is part of the effort, as he praised the iPhone SE during the earnings call with analysts a few hours ago in a way that could make Android users raise their eyebrows.

More specifically, Cook praised the hardware on the iPhone SE, explaining that the cheapest iPhone is faster even than the most expensive Android smartphone, which typically comes with the best performance too.

Forget about Android

In other words, if you want top-notch performance, you should purchase the 2020 iPhone SE and not a Samsung Galaxy S20 or the latest-generation Google Pixel.

“I think, it plays in every geo, but I would expect to see it doing even better in areas where the median incomes are less. And so, we’ll see how that plays out. And I expect some fair number of people switching over to iOS. So, it’s an unbelievable offer. It’s, if you will, the engine of our top phones in a very affordable package. And I think -- and it’s faster than the fastest Android phones. And so, it’s an exceptional value,” he said.

iPhone SE indeed comes with the A13 Bionic chip, which is also used on the latest-generation iPhones. The device is based on the iPhone 8, so they feature the same body and a bunch of features, including the front-facing home button with integrated Touch ID.

The new iPhone SE is available from $399 in the United States with 64 GB storage, so it’s currently the most affordable iPhone that you can purchase. The new premium iPhones are projected to launch in September.
