The new models will be more expensive, it seems

Apple is working around the clock on getting the next-generation iPhone ready for prime time, and according to new information that has reached the web this week, the company is also planning an increase in terms of pricing.

More specifically, tipster The Gallox says on Twitter that Apple could make the iPhone 14 Pro models more expensive than the devices they replace, with the 6.1-inch device to start at no less than $1,099.

At this point, the cheapest iPhone 13 Pro can be had for $999.

At the same time, a price increase is also expected for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, as the base model is expected to sell for $1,199. This is also a notable price bump, as the current iPhone 13 Pro Max can be purchased for $1,099.

The iPhone 14 lineup

Apple is expected to take the wraps off four different iPhone models this year, though the new lineup will witness the introduction of several notable changes.

The iPhone mini form factor, for example, is getting the ax due to poor sales, so Apple is giving up on it entirely. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 lineup will come with an all-new 6.7-inch device called either iPhone 14 Max or iPhone 14 Plus – it will be a larger version of the standard iPhone 14.

The Cupertino-based tech giant is also expected to introduce some pretty big changes to the Pro models as well, including the demise of the notch. Without a notch, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will use a punch-hole display, similar to the one that’s already being used by Android device makers, such as Samsung.

Of course, everything is currently in the rumor stage, so you’d better not take anything for granted until more reliable leaks take place.
