Apple is getting ready to begin the production of its next-generation iPhone model, with the debut scheduled to happen according to the typical schedule in the fall.

New information published by Digitimes indicates that Apple will complete the preparatory phases ahead of the iPhone 12 production this month, so the actual manufacturing of the device could kick off in July.

At this point, the new iPhone is still in the Engineering Validation and Testing stage, but this is supposed to come to an end by the end of the month. Once this happens, Apple can proceed with the production of the iPhone 12, so the first units could see the daylight in July, according to the cited source.

While it goes without saying that a certain dose of skepticism is recommended because there’s nothing confirmed at this point, the timing seems to make sense, especially as July means Apple has some two months to prepare for the launch of the new iPhone.

Worth emphasizing, however, is that its still not clear if Apple wants to release all the new iPhones at the same time.

While the announcement is expected to take place in September as usual, the actual sales could kick off at different dates for the new four models included in the iPhone 12 series. And this is because some antenna design changes on the iPhone Pro could push back the production for a few weeks, which means they are more likely to land in October rather than in late September.

Apple will launch four different iPhone models this year, and all of them could come with 5G support. There are two iPhone 12 with 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch displays, as well as two Pro versions that will boast 6.1-inch screens for the standard model and 6.7-inch panels for the Max configuration.
