The company is reportedly investigating the glitch

Apple has reportedly confirmed another iPhone 14 bug, this time affecting most models in the new lineup. According to MacRumors, Apple has internally acknowledged that some users may encounter a SIM Not Supported error, therefore leading to the device freezing entirely.

At this point, it looks like all the new iPhones are suffering from the same glitch, including the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The company says it has already started an investigation, but based on the preliminary data, it looks like the issue is related to a software problem and has nothing to do with hardware.

No workaround is known to exist, and given the device freezes, the wait for an official fix is as painful as possible.

No official word on the glitch just yet

However, Apple recommends users just wait for a few minutes when the message appears, and in some cases, it could go away on its own. If the message doesn’t disappear and the device freezes, users shouldn’t attempt to restore the iPhone on their own but reach out to the Apple Store for support.

Officially, Apple has remained completely tight-lipped on this glitch, so there’s no public advisory to let users know that a glitch truly exists. But on the other hand, more information could be offered when the fix goes live, most likely as part of an upcoming software update for the iPhone 14.

Apple itself recommends customers keep their iPhones fully up-to-date, as the release of the fix could take place any day now.

In the meantime, it looks like the Pro continues to be the big star of the iPhone 14 show, with Apple recently telling suppliers to slow down the production of the Plus and the standard model to focus more on the Pro versions.
