And remains tight-lipped on the standard 14 and the Plus

We’ve known for a while that the Pro models are the ones bringing home the bacon these days for Apple, and CEO Tim Cook acknowledged the strong demand for these devices.

The company’s leader said during the conference call with analysts after the latest earnings report that the market performance of the Pros has so far been impressive, to say the least, adding that Apple would have sold even more units if it weren’t for the supply shortage.

Apple said back in November that the production of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max would be impacted by supply issues in China. Due to the restrictions that took place in the country, some of its suppliers were unable to build the parts the company needed for iPhones.

As such, the Pro models, which were in hot demand, were heavily impacted, with the customer at one point being forced to wait up to several weeks to receive the ordered smartphones.

“The Pro has been a -- 14 Pro and the 14 Pro Max have done extremely well up until the point where we had a supply shortage and couldn't provide them -- couldn't provide the total of the demand. And so it's definitely a strong Pro cycle. I think there's a number of reasons for that, but the most important one is always the product. And I think the innovations and the product speak for themselves,” Cook explained.

“And we feel very good about the product that we announced back in September and are happy to now be at a point where we're shipping to the demand.”

On the other hand, Tim Cook has remained completely tight-lipped on the performance of the iPhone 14 Plus. The all-new model is apparently experiencing lackluster demand, with many people wondering if the company would still release a Plus next year or give up on it after just one generation.
