Apple’s CEO Tim Cook is not an avid Twitter user, but every once in a while he uses the social network to quickly share some messages on topics that he finds interesting.

More recently, Cook used Twitter to congratulate Australia on the recent gay marriage vote, and since he wanted his message to look as cool as possible, he included the flag of the country in the tweet. The only problem is that Cook actually picked the flag of New Zealand, a thing that made Twitter user instantly react to suggest some improvements that could help prevent similar blunders.

“Congratulations Australia! Another important step toward equality for all,” Cook tweeted, along with the flag of New Zealand. After the Internet burst out laughing, Apple’s CEO removed the tweet and posted it again with the correct flag.

In his defense, the two flags are pretty similar, so it’s quite easy for anyone to mistake the two and post the wrong one especially on a small screen like the one of the 4.7-inch iPhone.

The potato photo

A bunch of Twitter users knows exactly what the iPhone needs to prevent people from mistaking the flag of some countries: a new emoji picker that would simply convert the name of the country to the flag.

This is already possible in some third-party keyboard apps, such as SwiftKey, but integrating it into the iPhone with support for all languages would be a neat addition.

Tim Cook isn’t quite the most hardcore Twitter user, and this isn’t his first blunder. Back in February 2016, the Apple CEO also took to the social network to congratulate the Broncos from winning the Super Bowl. Along with his message, he also posted a photo that went rival for its poor quality, in turn generating a wave of humorous comments regarding the quality of the iPhone camera.

As it happened now, Tim Cook quickly removed the tweet, but it was too late for the Internet to forget about it.
