Event called Unleashed, to take place at Steve Jobs Theater

Apple has announced its second hardware event of the fall, this time called Unleashed and projected to take place on October 18 at 10.00 a.m. PT.

The online venue will be hosted at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, and it’s expected to witness the debut of new MacBooks.

The company took the wraps off the new iPhone 13 generation and the Apple Watch Series 7 last month, so naturally, the next devices to receive a refresh are part of the Mac lineup.

While the Cupertino-based tech giant has obviously remained fully tight-lipped on the lineup of devices to see the daylight at the show, it’s not a secret that Apple has been working on updated versions of MacBook Pro models with 14-inch and 16-inch displays.

The new MacBooks

Of course, people familiar with the matter have suggested Apple is working on all kinds of improvements for its devices, including a more modern design – this is something that obviously makes sense, especially as Apple is anyway expected to launch new MacBooks with smaller bezels.

So at the end of the day, Apple most likely wants to go the same route as everybody else, and shrink the bezels on its MacBooks to offer an increased screen estate on its devices. Most likely, the new MacBook Pro models will be powered by the M1X chip, an improved version of the M1 that was announced with so much fanfare last year.

Needless to say, the debut of the M1X itself is big news, as it’s pretty much the first revision the Apple Silicon receives since the 2020 launch. People with knowledge of Apple’s plans said the new MacBooks could come with massive improvements in terms of display, this faster chip, and an upgrade of RAM on the top-of-the-range models, as they could end up boasting no less than 32GB.
