14 DAY TRIAL // Antivirus solutions are becoming so yesterday in 2017, so security company Symantec has decided to go to the next level with a brand-new router whose purpose is to block intrusions before they actually reach your connected devices.
Called Norton Core, the router was on display at CES 2017, and it is capable of scanning packets of data transmitted by your connected devices to detect malware or any form of suspicious activity that could put your information at risk.
Symantec equipped the router with super-powerful hardware to make sure that connection speed is not impacted, so it features a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor that can guarantee a maximum speed of 2.5 Gbps.

The router features an advanced system that employs the so-called Security Score, which automatically monitors transmitted data and identifies any possible security issue, giving a rating to help users prioritize fixes for their networks.
“If there’s ever a problem, Core jumps in with real-time insights and tools to get you back on track,” Symantec explains.
In case the router discovers any malicious activity, it automatically isolates the devices and sends a notification to the user, trying to protect all the other connected devices and make sure that no infection occurs.
The router is already available for pre-order with a price of $199.99, and Symantec says that shipping will begin in the summer of 2017. Additionally, users who pre-order the router will also receive one-year complimentary subscription to Norton Core Security Plus, which brings protection for up to 20 devices, including PCs, Macs, smartphones, and tablets.
