Path creators announce they will end support for their app

It looks like some developers are disappointed by the feedback they have received for their Windows Phone applications and decided to drop support for this platform and focus on other, more popular mobile operating systems.

Path creators have just announced they will abandon Windows Phone development and turn their full attention on Android and iOS platforms. This means that their Windows Phone application will not be supported anymore beginning December 31, 2015.

“Thank you so much for your continued support of Path for Windows Phone. Unfortunately, we will be ceasing new updates for the Windows Phone version of Path starting December 31, 2015. This difficult decision was driven by our need to focus on delivering the best experiences possible on our most popular platforms, Android and iOS,” said developers in a statement.

If you already have the application installed on your Windows Phone smartphone, then you can continue to use it, but bear in mind that there won't be any more updates released starting next year.

The app will be pulled from Windows Store at the end of the year

Windows Phone users not familiar with Path may still download the application until December 31, 2015, and continue to take advantage of its features afterwards.

Microsoft is likely to remove Path for Windows Phone from Windows Store, so if you plan to try out the application, you must act quickly.

“Most importantly, please know that your moments will always remain safe with us. If you have already installed Path on your Windows Phone, don't worry - you can still use Path after December 31, 2015.

“However, we will be removing Path from the Windows Store on that date, so if you or any of your friends haven't yet downloaded Path, please be sure to do so now,” concluded devs.

While some developers and publishers don't seem to have much success on Windows Phone, others continue to launch new games and apps on a weekly basis (i.e. Game Troopers).

Let's hope we won't have to report about other devs abandoning Windows Phone platform, as Microsoft really needs more apps in Windows Store.
