Hackers take offense at Flint's hunting habits

The Anonymous hacktivist group seems to have taken against The Prodigy frontman Keith Flint after a British newspaper reported that he had partaken in a fox hunting party over the holidays.

The Daily Mail report claims that Flint has recently started participating in fox hunting while at his country residence in Braintree, Essex, his hometown before joining The Prodigy.

Members of the Anonymous group, who actively campaign against animal cruelty and other similar causes, didn't enjoy the news, especially since it involved a member of The Prodigy, a very popular band on the electro-punk scene, and a favorite in hacking circles due to a series of successful albums launched in the ‘90s.

The hackers posted a warning directly addressed to Flint (video below), one that reads in some parts, "Keith likes the torture and killing of animals. How ironic! Keith killed a dear, now anonymous will politically kill Keith. So sit tight Keith is gonna be a bumpy ride. [...] This is not a threat, although, we do know where you live."

Flint responded to reports, says he didn't kill anything

A day after the Anonymous message was published, Flint addressed the Daily Mail report via a message on the band's Facebook page (message below).

"In regards to a story going around about me right now - yes I live in Essex and have a couple of horses. I went riding with the local trail hunt, it was a ride out and NO ANIMALS WERE HUNTED OR KILLED, so my conscience is clear, it wasn't my thing and I won't be going again," reads Flint's statement.

It is curious why only Flint was singled out, since there are many celebrities that hunt and actively promote hunting, like NFL quarterback Brett Favre, stand-up comedian Joe Rogan, NBA star Karl Malone, actors Matthew McConaughey, Chris Pratt, Eva Longoria, and many other more.

Previously, Anonymous launched a similar threat against Kanye West, at the beginning of March 2015. Although the group did not deliver on its promise, in July, a Reddit thread claimed that Anonymous had leaked Kanye's upcoming album "Swish." The rumors and the leaked songs turned out to be fake.
