Our celebrity culture is weird: on the one hand, it roots for celebrity couples, selling the idea of fairy-tale happy endings, while on the other it’s quick to put an expiration date to all couples that seem built to last. This is most obvious in the abundance of weekly contradictory reports, to the point where fans don’t know whether to expect an imminent wedding ceremony or a divorce announcement.

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt have also experienced this, particularly after Pratt became Hollywood’s number 1 leading action man with Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Though she knew the truth, namely that there wasn’t any trouble at home, it still stung.

“We have an incredible relationship”

Speaking with Us Weekly at the TCA Stars Party for CBS, Showtime, CW and CBS Television Distribution, Faris gets candid about how hurtful the rumors that she and Pratt were heading for divorce had been.

Obviously, she knew that they were not having issues, but it still pained her to read about their supposed issues in the tabloid media. And to think that she once assumed that there must be some “kernel of truth” to reports about other couples.

“It's been a little devastating because for us, it's like, ‘What the heck?’ This has been blindsiding to us. We have an incredible relationship. It has been weirdly stinging,” she says.

The reports she’s referring to emerged just recently, after Pratt was cast in “Passengers” opposite Jennifer Lawrence. For some reason, several “insiders” predicted to the glossies that he would cheat on Anna with Jennifer because he was already growing tired of family life and his marriage.

In reality, Anna explains, they’re both tremendously happy: he is a man with strong family values and he would never cheat on her and break her trust in him. She is “lucky” to have him as a partner, she stresses.

Anna and Chris do seem like a match made in heaven

Strong, lasting marriages are a rare sight in Hollywood, but it does seem like these 2 are the exception to the rule: they met in 2007 and were married 2 years later, and welcomed their first child in 2012. He was born prematurely and the whole thing was very trying for the couple, they would later admit in interviews.

The experience brought them closer than ever and helped them restore their faith in God. Just a couple of days ago, a report claimed that Pratt was using his star power to refuse to shoot love scenes he deemed unnecessary, because he didn’t think his faith and his family values would allow it.

From his interviews, it sounds like he is the perfect man in all respects: he’s talented and popular, has achieved international fame, but more importantly, he’s loving and respectful, and considerate towards his wife. She, in her turn, is supportive and loving.

No wonder they were upset by reports that their marriage was going down the hill.
