If you own a Motorola Moto Z2 Force Edition smartphone and you're on AT&T, chances are you can now install Google's Android 8.0 (Oreo) software update and enjoy its new features and improvements.

AT&T released the Android 8.0 Oreo update last week, as reported by Android Police, for its Moto Z2 Force customers. The update is tagged as build number OCX27.109-47 and has approximately 334MB in size, which means that it won't be a pain for most users to install it on their devices.

Twice as faster than Android 7.0 Nougat, the Android 8.0 Oreo software update brings a plethora of new features, including Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode, background limits, notification dots, Android Instant Apps, smart text selection, and the ability for the Autofill feature to remember logins for your favorite apps.

While AT&T's website notes the fact the Android 8.0 Oreo update contains the security patch level (SPL) for January 1, 2018, it would appear that it actually comes with Google's Android Security Patch for December 2017 and it's powered by the Linux 4.4.78 kernel, according to screenshots posted by XDA-Developers user simonb255.

Here's how to install Android 8.0 Oreo on the Moto Z2 Force

Moto Z2 Force AT&T users can install the Android 8.0 Oreo update on their devices by downloading the firmware via FOTA (Firmware Over the Air) while connected to a Wi-Fi network. You can't download the software update while on a 3G or 4G mobile connection, and it's recommended to make a backup of your most important files.
