New information about Android 6.0 Marshmallow update roadmap for Samsung Galaxy devices has just leaked online.

This isn't the first time insiders claim they know when the South Korean company will deliver the upgrade, but let's see what devices are now targeted by Samsung with Marshmallow in the next couple of months.

First of all, the list leaked courtesy of TimesNews.co.uk contains 18 smartphones split into two categories based on the timing of the update.

The first group of devices will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates in the next few months while the second group is still waiting for an ETA.

The good news is the first Samsung smartphones to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ should get it as early as December 2015.

So, we're just one month away from the rollout, although it's unclear whether or not Samsung will make the update available worldwide or it will just kick off a pilot program in only a few countries.

Unlocked devices will receive the update first

Next in line, Samsung Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 edge will get the update sometime in January 2016 while Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note edge are expected to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow in February 2016.

The last two smartphones in the first category, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha don't have an ETA for the release of the update, which is still waiting for approval.

In the second phase, Samsung will offer Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for six other Galaxy smartphones: Galaxy A8, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A3, Galaxy E7 and Galaxy E5.

None of the updates for these Galaxy smartphones has an ETA yet, but they are waiting for approval, so we will probably get more info on the matter next year.

According to the leaked roadmap, some of the smartphones and tablets that aren't on the list will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates in the third phase, after initial testing.
