OnePlus One owners, rejoice, as the Chinese company has confirmed that the long-awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be available for download beginning tomorrow.

It looks like the folks over at Cyanogen have announced that CM 13.0 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will be launched on April 9. However, the rollout will be staged, so only some OnePlus One owners will get the update first.

Keep in mind that the update will be deployed to OnePlus One devices randomly, so there’s no telling who will get it first and who will have to wait patiently for Marshmallow to arrive on their smartphones.

Talking about features, Cyanogen has informed us that the update to be rolled out tomorrow to OnePlus One devices includes many goodies like the battery saving “doze” function, as well as the new permission model.

A delta between 12.1 and 13.0

Cyanogen also mentions that the update is a “delta between 12.1 and 13.0,” which contains thousands of changes (Google’s, Qualcomm’s, Linux Foundation, CM Community’s, etc).

Also, some features have been removed. Among them are whisperpush capability (encrypted SMS), Settings/About phone/Advanced mode (replaced with new behavior that shows all settings at all times), as well as Settings/Notification Drawer/Quick Settings (new behavior is to control layout and options directly via QS panel via “edit” tile or long-press of settings gear in the pull-down area).

The “Advanced location settings” has been renamed “Tri-state location,” and there’s a new screen (AOSP) that shows the memory usage over a selected period of time (Settings / Memory).

CM implementation of silent mode has been replaced with AOSP implementation, and fingerprint support for accessing protected content will be available too.

Cyanogen has also added an enhanced ability to prevent access while retaining usability, along with a new function that doesn’t allow a protected application to be launched via Play store.

Many more new features and improvements are included in CM 13.0 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, so if you want the full changelog, you can head over to CyanogenMod’s official site.
