14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung is one of the few handset makers that never tell their customers whether and when their smartphones/tablets will ever receive a major software update.
Even though it's one of the biggest players in the smartphone business, the South Korean company completely ignores customers' requests and feedback.
To this date, the only information we have about what Samsung devices will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and when comes from rumors.
Various sources claiming they are familiar with Samsung's Android 6.0 update roadmap state that the first smartphones should be upgraded as early as this month.
There are even lists that describe Samsung's OS software roadmap, but based on our previous experience, the South Korean company never uses such lists internally.
Anyway, according to these rumors, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 should be the first Samsung smartphones to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. At least one of them should start receiving the update as early as December 2015.
Flat UI, minor visual changes, lots of tweaking
The good news is Samsung is working on Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Galaxy S6 as we speak. Unfortunately, there's no telling how close the company is to a final build.
Perhaps some of you will be able to tell that by looking at the latest screenshots captured from a Samsung Galaxy S6 running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The leaked screenshots have been spotted by PhoneArena and come directly from China via Weibo. Although the source of the leak has since removed these screenshots, we managed to save the batch for your viewing pleasure.
Notice that the new TouchWiz UI looks flat and that Samsung did some minor tweaking to notifications area and settings menu.
Hopefully, Samsung will also remove some of the bloatware it usually puts inside its devices. We also hope Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 comes sooner rather than later.
