The update fixes detection of available storage

Androbench, one of the best storage benchmark apps for Android devices, has just received an important update that fixes some issues with Pixel tests. On top of that, the update introduces some visual improvements that should make the benchmark app more pleasing to the eye.

The most obvious change is the new UI design. Let's face it, Androbench's old UI was pretty ugly, but fortunately, the benchmark did its job, so not many complained about the aesthetic aspect of the application.

However, every once in a while, visual improvements must be done to mobile apps, not just to keep users happy, but also to come in line with the new trends in design.

Androbench 5.0 is supposed to bring a breath of fresh air, but there are voices from the community that claim the older UI was better looking. All in all, it's a matter of taste.

The next major changes in Androbench 5.0 are the addition of an enhanced SQLite benchmark and the removal of Macro benchmark. So, if you're looking for the latter after updating, don't bother since it's not available anymore.

Support for file-based encryption in Android N

The official changelog also mentions that developers have added support for file-based encryption in Android 7.0 Nougat, so if you're rocking one of those new devices, you'll be able to take advantage of this new feature as well.

When it comes to bug fixes, Androbench devs have done wonders, as they've managed to address an issue where the benchmark app did not correctly detect the available storage size. Well, now it's been fixed, so Androbench should be accurate once again when checking for internal memory.

Furthermore, the update fixes an issue with detecting I/O scheduler, and another problem that caused it to display the wrong text in the dialog box. If you haven't yet used Androbench for whatever reasons, now would be a good time to give it a try in case you want to put something to the test.
