Amy Duggar is the least Duggar-like member of the Duggar family, in that she doesn’t abide by the very strict set of rules that all the others follow to the letter. So no wonder her engagement photoshoot turned out to be quite steamy, as she’s the first to admit.

Amy is the niece of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, former stars of TLC’s now-defunct 19 Kids and Counting reality series. She was featured on the show, but she also got her own special on the network, A Duggar Leaves Home, which documented her attempt to become a country singer.

Amy Duggar is engaged, kissing, rolling in the mud

That isn’t the only thing that makes Amy stand apart from the rest of the Duggars. She was also conceived out of wedlock and has always been the “rebel” in the family: she wears short shorts and bikinis, and she kisses and hugs her fiancé instead of waiting for the wedding day for their first smooch.

Some of these things are also apparent in their engagement photospread, which has been sold to People Magazine.

There were some reports that TLC was thinking of offering Amy a special or more screentime for the upcoming nuptials at the time her cousin Josh Duggar was exposed as a child molester and the network canceled the series. In other words, she can use the money as much as any other Duggar right now.

You can see some photos from the shoot in the gallery, with the complete set available over at People Magazine. Amy and Dillon King, her fiancé, surely seemed like they had a lot of fun.

Not a traditional engagement or wedding

While Amy and Dillon are seen rolling in the mud, kissing and touching / hugging in the photos, not one of her Duggar cousins would be allowed to do the same until after they were married.

The Duggars believe in formal courtship and limited contact between young men and women before marriage, and that includes touching, holding hands or hugging.

For instance, Amy’s cousins are not allowed to go out on dates alone even during courtship, and have to have chaperons with them at all times. They’re also not allowed to touch, except for side-hugs. The occasional peck on the cheek and hand-holding may be permitted after engagement, but none of this steamy stuff that Amy is seen doing in her engagement photos.

That’s because she’s not going for a traditional engagement or wedding.

“One of our three engagement photo looks was a mud fight,” she says for the celebrity publication. “It was kind of, not scandalous, but a little less what you'd expect from a Duggar. It is not your traditional wedding by any means.”

Still, she expects the entire family to be at her wedding and she’s even reached out to Jim Bob and Michelle to ask them to go on a double date with her and Dillon, because she needs every word of advice on marriage they can spare.
