A great opportunity does exist though, it says

Windows 10 was released on July 29 and since then adoption has improved at a really face pace, with Microsoft claiming that early performance was even better than Windows 7's.

But as far as company partners are concerned, the operating system's performance might not have been just as impressive until now, although most agree that Windows 10 creates new opportunities in the coming months.

Case in point, Advanced Micro Devices, or AMD as most people know it, through Lisa Su, chief executive of the company, is claiming that no big changes in terms of new PC sales are expected to be recorded on the long term as the result of Windows 10's launch.

“While we are not anticipating Windows 10 will drive a dramatic near-term PC refresh cycle, the continued adoption of Windows 10, which has already been installed on 110 million PCs to date, provides a great opportunity for AMD over the coming year,” she was quoted as saying by VenureBeat.

Microsoft and its partners

While there's some controversy in the hardware market that Microsoft is becoming a rival for its own partners, the two sides are still working very well in the software business, so many companies still rely on Windows 10 for increased sales of their devices.

Microsoft is currently involved in a world tour to promote devices manufactured by partners, including those belonging to ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, as it has a goal of bringing Windows 10 on 1 billion devices by 2017.

Right now, Windows 10 is running on more than 110 million devices, as revealed by Microsoft at its hardware event on October 6, but these figures are expected to grow significantly in the coming months, as the OS becomes available to more users. What's more, adoption can also increase when Windows 10 Mobile debuts in December, as it will be available on all devices running Windows Phone.
