Huami’s Amazfit has come with another surprising smartwatch, and to be honest, it all sounds great on paper.

Supposed to be a rugged smartwatch, the T-Rex Pro will hit the shelves on March 31 and will cost $179.99.

First of all, let’s see how the device is getting the more rugged package.

As compared to the base model, the new device offers 10 ATM water resistance and comes with an upgraded heart rate sensor and SpO2 readings.

Then, there’s supposed for a total of four different GPS systems, namely GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou, so theoretically, you should be able to track your workouts and figure out where you are no matter the location. New workouts are also available.

Going on sale on March 31

Like the original T-Rex, the device comes with a proprietary operating system, but this is quite alright, as the Huami brand has managed to obtain a battery life of no less than 18 days per charge. This is more than impressive for a device so well equipped, not to mention the 1.3-inch always-on display.

However, if you’re a heavy user that relies a lot on GPS connectivity, the battery life drops to 40 hours, but needless to say, this is more than enough for most of us anyway.

The T-Rex Pro comes with support for both Android and iPhone using the dedicated companion app, so in theory, you can pair it with any smartphone out there.

Time will tell if the T-Rex Pro becomes a hot seller, but at this point, it just looks like Amazfit is becoming a brand to keep an eye on, especially because the build quality and the feature lineup of its devices is continuously improving. Sales of the new device are projected to kick off later this month in the United States, the United Kingdom, and India.
