Front panel also leaked ahead of possible August unveiling

A purported Samsung Galaxy Note 8 press render is making the rounds as we speak, claiming to provide us with an early look at the new device ahead of its expected August unveiling.

Though it’s hard at this point to tell whether this is real or not, and because there’s also a chance this is a fan-made render that was supposed to look as legitimate as possible, you’re recommended to take it with a pinch of salt until more information on the device lands.

But judging from the existing leaks, this is very close to what the real Note 8 is expected to look like, with narrow bezels and an overall design that reminds of the Samsung Galaxy S8 series.

Pretty much everyone seems to believe that the Note 8 will be more of a stretched version of the Galaxy S8+, and at first glance, this can only be good news for Apple, especially because Cupertino is working to make a bigger difference between its own iPhones.

So while Samsung’s new models will be very similar to each other, with the Note 8 only featuring a bigger screen and a stylus, Apple wants its flagship iPhone to boast a design that would set it apart from its other models. Rumor has it the iPhone 8 would come with an OLED screen, wireless charging, and fingerprint sensor embedded into the screen, with narrower bezels and no home button.

In addition to the aforementioned render, a couple of photos showing the front panels of the new Note 8 also got leaked today, again confirming that Samsung’s flagship could be just a bigger version of the Samsung Galaxy S8+.

Rumor has it that the Note 8 would come with a 6.3-inch QHD Infinity Display (with narrow bezels) similar to the one on the S8+, a dual-camera configuration that would set it apart from the S series with 12MP + 13 MP telephoto lens, plus stereo speakers.

This means that while in terms of design the Note 8 could be somewhat close to the S8 and S8+, Samsung is also pondering a series of hardware upgrades, though at this point nothing is confirmed.

The Note 8 could be powered by the Snapdragon 836 in the United States, and feature a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, as tech to embed it into the screen is not yet ready.

The debut of the phone should take place in August, just ahead of the debut of IFA in early September.
