In approximately 13 days, LG is expected to host an event at MWC 2017, during which the company is said to announce a new flagship phone. A live picture of the G6’s back panel leaked last month and now it’s time for the front panel to be revealed.

IT Home (via PA) revealed a live image of the G6 front panel, and the picture seems to confirm previous rumors regarding the phone. However, it could actually reveal a prototype of the G6 or it might be a working unit.

The G6 appears to have a wide display, thin bezels and rounded corners. Rumors say that the smartphone might come with a 5.7-inch 18:9 LCD screen with 1440 x 2880 pixel resolution.

The LG logo appears to be placed below the screen, while the front camera and sensor have the same location as in previous leaks. We must say that the G6 seems to resemble the Galaxy S8 in some respects, except for the dual-curved design on the Samsung phone.

Waterproof features and Snapdragon 821 SoC

The G6 is said to come with IP67 or IP68 protection against water and run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor. LG has ditched the modular design for the G6 and has reportedly teamed with Google to feature Google Assistant on the upcoming phone. The G6 is also rumored to come with 4GB of RAM and run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

A dual-camera setup is expected on the back of the phone, with a fingerprint scanner below, similar to what we’ve seen on the G5. The G6 is expected to go on sale in the US on April 7, while customers from South Korea will be able to buy the phone much sooner, on March 9. The new flagship will be announced on February 26, during LG’s press conference at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
