Huawei is reportedly working on a new device, which some rumors suggest could be announced during IFA in September this year, considering that the company has already scheduled an event during the conference. So it's no surprise that a Huawei device has just been benchmarked on GFXBench.

The GFXBench listing has been spotted by TelefoonAbonnement, and it reveals some of the specs featured by the upcoming device, thought to be the Mate 9. The phablet seems to sport a 5.9-inch display with 1080p resolution. However, the size of the device could turn out to be different upon launch, as it sometimes happens with benchmark tips.

Nevertheless, the phablet runs an octa-core 2.6GHz processor as part of HiSilicon series of Huawei processors. It's coupled with Mali-T880 graphics processing unit and comes with 4GB of RAM. It also seems to have 64GB of internal storage, and Huawei will most likely provide a micro-SD slot for enhancing internal memory on the phablet.

The Mate 9 could run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box

Other than that, the phablet appears to run Android 7.0 Nougat, and an 11MP rear camera with autofocus and HDR photo will most likely be found on the device. Front camera capacity could reach 7MP with the capacity to record FHD videos.

The Mate 9 will most likely be the successor to last year's Mate 8, which was made available in three variants. One came with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, the other with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and the high-end model with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The Mate 8 had a processor similar to the rumored Mate 9, with Kirin 950 and a 2.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A72 CPU. It also came with an 8MP camera on the front and a 16MP rear unit with autofocus and dual-tone LED flash.

Display size reached 6 inches with HD resolution, and the smartphone drew power from a 4,000mAh battery. Overall, Mate 9 seems to remind of its predecessor, and it won't be long until September, when we might find out the final specs of this device.
